Is There Any Difference Between the Buddha-Nature of the Big, Medium, and Small Padmakumara? PDF Print E-mail

On July 1, 2007, in celebration of the PTT Buddhist Society 23rd anniversary, the True Buddha School's Lineage Root Guru, Living Buddha Lian-sheng, compassionately hosted a Golden Mother of the Primordial Pond Puja at the Rainbow Villa.  This was just a day before Shi Zun's birthday.  Masters, senior reverends, reverends and disciples came from many countries, including the United States, Canada, Singapore, and Indonesia, gathered together to celebrate Shi Zun's birthday as well as wishing that the Buddha stays in the samsara world.

July 1, 2007 Shi Zun Visualize Offerings at Golden Mother Puja
It was a hot summer day in Seattle.  In addition to the flame from the puja, Shi Zun was already soaking wet from sweating and yet he still concentrated in performing wonderful mudras.  His face carried the characteristic smile of the puja's principle deity, the Golden Mother.   As a demonstration of the unity of God and man, he embodied the endless power of compassion, the power of wisdom and the power of Dharma, in order to purify and bless everybody.

At the end of the puja, Shi Zun mentioned in his Dharma talk that today's puja was very fulfilling and extraordinary.  Every puja has not only invisible spiritual manifestation, but also aspects of purification, magnetization, enrichment, and subjugation.  Shi Zun specifically mentioned and thanked the Seattle Chinese Orchestra Director, Mr. Warren Chang, his wife, Buyun Zhao, and their students' brilliant presentation.  The orchestra three programs provided people with emotional excitement and contentment.   It also brought us endless memories.  Shi Zun answered a question asked by one of his disciples, is the Buddha-nature of the big, medium and small Padmakumara equal?  Buddha nature is the same.  It depends on the number of sentient beings being saved and for this reason is divided into three categories.  In addition, depending on their different actions, they have different names besides Padmakumara.

After listening to Shi Zun's precious Dharma talk, his disciples' confusion disappeared.  We all gathered around Shi Zun in the main hall and enthusiastically presented our specially prepared program to offer to Buddha.  The program included performances of a solo ancient Chinese musical instrument called gu-zheng, solo singing, martial arts, Tai chi sword, and jokes.  Various dances accompanied by different musical beats included:  the Dai nationality, the Great Compassion, modern hip-pop, celestial ribbon, traditional chopsticks and fan acts.  Lastly, it was the song of "the arrival of the wealth god" accompanied by the special ordered three layered birthday cake for Shi Zun.  People celebrated Shi Zun's birthday with the "Happy Birthday" song in Mandarin, English, and Cantonese.  Some disciples shouted aloud from their hearts, "Shi Zun, we love you!"  With the cheerful music, we spent another unforgettable wonderful time in the Rainbow Villa with Shi Zun and Shi Mu.
